I know this may sound a bit biased, but my match of the week has to be Chelsea v Tottenham. I know Man Utd v Stoke had the same 4 – 2 scoreline but the Chelsea match was much more intense. Cahill fired the Blues into the lead before Spurs equalised as Gallas headed level just a minute after half time. Then Defoe turned the match on its head making the scoreline 2 – 1 to Tottenham. Chelsea piled on the pressure though, and before too long the scoreline was 2 – 2 thanks to Mata. Then some slick passing lead to a gap in the Tottenham defence and Mata cooly slotted home with his second of the match regaining Chelsea’s lead. It was a nervy last 20 minutes for Chelsea as Tottenham had some great chances and forced Cech into some good saves. Then, in the first minute of stoppage time, a mistake by Walker lead to Mata having a huge amount of time to pick out the right pass and he squared it to Sturridge tapping it in to grab Chelsea’s fourth. The final whistle blew about a minute later and the Chelsea players and staff must have been delighted with the result. This was an exciting encounter and another strong attacking performance by both the teams.
